That's what I'm living for...

by Paula Neal Mooney

"Livin' 4" by J. Moss speaks to everything I'm feeling today...

It's one of those songs I played over and over and over and over again in my car before I gave the CD away after it first came out.

And now that these feelings have resurged like something kicking me in the gut, I'll probably listen to the MP3 of J. Moss' Living 4 over and over and over and over again...

And here are those lovely lyrics about sin, personified as a woman -- with J Moss honestly triumphant in turning his back on her:

Rap intro:
Oh no...
Thought it'd never come

That day that I tell her that I've gotta run
Run back to the Savior and do my labor
Because His word is razor sharp
I forgot I hid it in my heart

Gotta do a clean sweep on the spot and drop
Everything that ain't clean
Don't take it for being mean

A brother's gotta fulfill his dreams "ya know mean"

You made my toes bring my balance to the floor
You made my feet walk right over to your door
You had my ankles tangled and puzzled
You had my knees to the point they buckled
(What you doin' to me)

In the light of day I'd stumble over your way
Couldn't wait for the night time
The high time the right time

Being as it was we had to close the door
It was like turning away from a million bucks
But I can't see you no more

Chorus
It's like the cold of a lonely night
The draft of a window not shut tight
I've got a hunger for being right
That's what I'm living for - I'm living for

Enticed by the things you do
Is a one-way ticket to a devil's hell foolin' with you
My soul wants to be true
That's what I'm living for - I'm living for

You had my legs on a virtual restrainer
I could not move without permission from my trainer
You had my arms and hands wrapped around your lust
You made my heart bust
(What cha sayin' to me)

In the light of day I'd stumble over your way
Couldn't wait for the night time
The high time the right time

Being as it was we had to close the door
It was like turning away from a million bucks
But I can't see you no more

Chorus

Bridge
I give my life not unto temptation
Nor condemnation for my soul
Is more important to me

Chorus

When a company calls...

by Paula Neal Mooney

I don't like when one particular company calls and leaves voice mail messages on my phone.

Perhaps it's because I had a not-so-pleasant experience with the African braiding place, perhaps it's because they call too often, perhaps it's because their frequency of messages smacks of desperation and low sales to me.

Or maybe it's the way they repeat the message that starts in a weird way -- like it's cut off and I'm coming in on the middle of the message -- that puts me off.

Maybe that company used a cheap voice messaging company.

I like Joyce Meyer's messages...

On the other hand, I like when Joyce Meyer (a conference leader whose Enjoying Everyday Life program I watch from time to time) leaves a voice mail message.

It's always kinda funny to hear her voice on my machine, as if she's personally talking to me.

Plus, Joyce Meyer rarely calls -- but when she does leave messages that I've opted to receive (just like these folks who wanted to hear from Rush Limbaugh) -- they are received well by most customers, like a comforting rallying cry to bring together all her listeners during a time when people need it.

Like during Hurricane Katrina.

I wonder if Joyce Meyer's outfit uses Vontoo voice messaging, a company that uses advanced technology to do this stuff.

It's not the annoying calls you get where you pick up the phone and hear a long pause and then someone says they're gonna route you to a live person. I hang up on those.

These are the messages from companies I've used and opted to receive -- ones that make it past my privacy manager. Because I don't want to get phone calls that I just don't want...

Amazon MP3 Affiliate / Referral Program -- A new way to make money on the web ... I hope

by Paula Neal Mooney

Looking for the Amazon MP3 affiliate / referral program?

So am I.

Recently Amazon MP3 Beta was announced, where folks who click on an affiliate / referral link like this one can download music online -- and affiliate marketers online like me would get a cut of the money they pay Amazon -- for all our hard work in telling people about it.

I already like Amazon's affiliate program a lot -- especially since they just deposited $55.75 in my checking account today.

I've discovered that people like downloading full TV episodes online thru my television site -- amazingly even when I lead them to the free full episode on the network TV's site to watch for no cost, some will still opt to buy individual TV episodes for around 2 bucks a pop -- and that trend is only going to continue.

(If you sign up for Amazon Associates free affiliate / referral program and start hawking their wares, you get a flat 10% payout of everything they download thru Amazon Unbox.)

Does Amazon MP3 Have an Affiliate / Referral Programing Coming Soon?

So I naturally tried to create links thru the Build/Links Widgets module of Amazon, but no dice. All the MP3s as of this writing that I saw have a code of B000SHEA4M, which can't be found.

Get Creative to Get Paid Online...

When I looked around for details of the Amazon MP3 Affiliate / Referral Program on Amazon, I found none yet.

So I used their "Classic Links" module to build an Amazon MP3 Affiliate / Referral link like this one where you first go to the Amazon page you want to send people too (I chose the Christian / Gospel MP3 music section for this example), then under classic links choose the "Add to Your Webpage" under "Text Links" and then "Enter the URL" at the bottom under the "Link to Any Page at Amazon.com" option, then enter the "Name Your Link" to put in anchor text.

For example, I just created a link where Al Green music lovers can download Al Green songs thru Amazon MP3.

And I also sometimes link the photo (like this photo of Al Green) directly to the related affiliate page (by changing the website that the "a href" goes to in the HTML code) as oppossed to just using "iframe" code like below, because though that shows up on your website and your feed, it doesn't show up in Feedburner nor Feedblitz emails you send to your readers.

That playing around works great for selling the Amazon Unbox stuff, which are definitely under Amazon's Affiliate Program.

Hopefully it'll work for Amazon MP3 downloads, or maybe they'll just put the Amazon MP3 downloads under an actual affiliate / referral program soon -- so we can begin getting paid to lead folks to their favorite songs, too.

Anyway, happy Amazon MP3 affiliate revenue making!

Give One, Get One XO Laptop for $399 -- Buy One Laptop for Your Child, and Help Another Child in an Impoverished Country...

by Paula Neal Mooney

The Give One, Get One new laptop program for $399 really excites me now that it's happening.

Ever since I saw the guy whose vision it was to create the "One Laptop Per Child" program on 60 Minutes, I liked the premise.

So starting November 12, 2007, and only for a limited time, the new Give One, Get One laptop program will let us buy a laptop for ourselves for $399, and that price includes another laptop, which will be given to a child in an impoverished nation.

I want one of these Give One, Get One laptops (see all the techie specs here) so bad -- I told my son that I wanted to buy him one.

Its indestructable nature seems on point, and the screen that lets you surf around even outside in the sun is awesome.

Plus, I'll be helping open up a whole new world to children who need some hope.

What could be better?

Hannah Montana Pregnant? J-14 Magazine Says Miley Cyrus NOT Pregnant, Just a Hoax and Victim of Fake Internet Rumors and False Photo Doctoring...

Hanna Montana pregnant?

Miley Cyrus pregnant?

Is Hannah Montana pregnant?

Miley cyrus news!

Is Miley Cyrus pregnant?

These are the questions teeny-boppers are typing into Google in droves -- sending the "Hannah Montana pregnancy" rumors topic -- incorrect spellings and all to the volcanic stage of Google Hot Trends this morning.

According to J-14 magazine, the Miley Cyrus pregnant hoax started when someone took this image to the left and changed it to read as below.

hanna montana pregnant, miley cyrus pregnant, is hannah montana pregnant, miley cyrus news, is miley cyrus pregnant ,hannah montanta pregnant, miley cyrus pregnancy, hannah montana pregnant, is miley cyrus pregnant, miley cyrus is pregnant, hanna montana pregnant
So who started the Hannah Montana pregnant hoax? Click here to wade thru the posts by date order to see who first blogged about it hours ago, only because they probably picked it up from the first false "news" report.

And click here to search thru the news reports by date and see who was the first "news organization" (16 hours ago as of this writing) to ask if Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus was really pregnant.

hanna montana pregnant, miley cyrus pregnant, is hannah montana pregnant, miley cyrus news, is miley cyrus pregnant ,hannah montanta pregnant, miley cyrus pregnancy, hannah montana pregnant, is miley cyrus pregnant, miley cyrus is pregnant, hanna montana pregnant Me thinks some gossip site really wanted to up their Google Adsense money with lies...

Tell me, how much money did you make from this melee?

Better hope Miley's dad -- Billy Ray Cyrus -- doesn't come break your achy breaky heart with a lawsuit for libel and take all that ill-gotten gain away -- and then some...

Best Daddy Ever -- Ex-Google Guy Jason Shellen Gets Top SERP Listing From His Kids -- Hey, that's the best way not to get penalized by Google...

by Paula Neal Mooney

"Best Daddy Ever" Google SERP results?

Ex-Google employee Jason Shellen would be the number #1 result, if you ask his kids.

Good thing you drew that on a banner kids...for if too many of us link to your daddy with the anchor text of "Best Daddy Ever," his ex-employer will penalize him and slap him on the Google Bomb List.

Too cute.

Full Forbes 400 List Shows Google Guys Have Broken Into the Top 5 --

by Paula Neal Mooney

Look out, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. The Google guys are gaining on you two, rising to the top 5 position in this full list of the Forbes 400 richest folks in America.

Of course, most of the wealth is due to stock options and how they are valued, something I've had a tiny bit of experience with.

Having worked for Charles Schwab -- albeit mostly in the technology department -- I should know a thing or two or three about buying and selling stock.

The first time ever I bought your shares...

My initial plunge in the stock market was years ago when Krispy Kreme first went public. Witnessing how much people absolutely loved those doughnuts and ate them by the caseload -- okay, I still enjoy one now and again -- I knew that stock would be as hot as a fresh, soft case of their treats.

I bought 10 shares of the Krispy Kreme stock -- about all I could afford -- for around $19 bucks per share. They rose nicely and I sold them some time later, wanting the cash.

My $1,000 Stock Fantasies...

So that was the last time I thought about buying or selling stock, until today, when I registered for free for the rookie challenge over at MyWallSt.net, a web site that lets people play out their stock fantasies online.

It was simple and took me about 5 minutes to register, set up this wacky profile and get a confirmation email to confirm my account for the chance to be one of their $1,000 weekly winners.

What will I spend the $1,000 on when I win?

Hmm....I guess I wouldn't even be able to buy two shares of ol' GOOG with 1,000 bucks -- is it really trading at $560 per share as of this writing, or do I need to spend a whole lot more time playing around with virtual stocks over at MyWallSt.net?

NBC Direct -- Full and free episodes of The Office, Heroes -- and (pay for?) Life, Bionic Woman, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno

NBC Direct watch full free episodes of The Office, Heroes, Friday Night Lights Online Watch, full, episodes, free, online, the office, oprah,dr phil,on,computer,30 rock, life, bionic woman, download, chuck, life,k ville, web, where, can,I,how,do,nbc direct, nbc, direct, streaming, video, view, showby Paula Neal Mooney

For a person who writes a web site about where to download TV shows online, this new NBC Direct program, where you can soon download free and full episodes of 'The Office' and 'Heroes' is the best news I've heard all day.

(Let's hope and pray Mychal Bell being fully exonerated will be the next best news I hear today.)

NBC Direct is getting it right.

With NBC Direct, TV viewers will be able to download full episodes of shows like Life, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (will they all be free?) and keep them on their PCs for a week before they expire.

When is ABC going to get smarter and offer something similar (for shows like Oprah and The View) akin to NBC Direct?

I get hits all the time searching for full and free episodes of The Oprah Show (like this popular recent one about Jenny McCarthy, Holly Robinson Peete and their sons with autism) that don't exist!

They are leaving it to the YouTubbers to play a cat-and-mouse game of upload-and-take-down due to copyright violations. It's the black hole that Napster first took advantage of years ago when dealing with the demand to download free music online.

Oprah and The View, get your full TV show episodes online ASAP!

One reader offered to pay me for a full episode of Oprah when she interviewed Bill Clinton. I had to tell the woman I didn't have it -- that no one had the full and free episodes -- save for the little snippets of video on Oprah.com.

Unfortunately until ABC catches up with the 21st century and realizes that people want to immediately watch her full shows online -- folks are missing out on the ad and affiliate marketing revenue we will all soon enjoy when they wake up to the demand.

ABC can just make the full episodes free and ad-supported, like NBC Direct is doing.

ABC is already doing great by streaming full episodes (and full seasons!) of its prime-time shows like Grey's Anatomy online, now they just need to throw Oprah and The View on there as well.

What are they waiting for?

Amazon Unbox is making a killing selling full-length, new movies to download and watch online (technically offline) thru their Amazon Unbox player.

Will ABC and all other network stations get wise and follow NBC Direct all the way to the bank?

Gossip Girl (and Boy) Bloggers Can Become Famous...

by Paula Neal Mooney

One only has to turn on their TV and see Perez Hilton's plump face and multi-colored hair everywhere -- being talked about on The View today, being interviewed on news magazine shows, dancing and trying to rap on the latest dance reality show -- to know that gossip bloggers can be pretty popular.

(The scuttlebutt is that Perez Hilton pulls down close to a million dollars a year working hard on his laptop starting at the dark wee hours of dawn till the dark wee hours of night at an L.A. coffee shop.)

Poison pen, I thought to myself today about the popular gossip boy blogger, or "Queen of All Media" as his tagline reads.

But I still pop over to the gossip blog every now and then to shake my head at the latest celebrity with white stuff being drawn out of their nose or called out of their name.

And I'll confess to popping over to gossip blogs TMZ, Rhymes With Snitch, Gawker, Young Black and Fabulous and others every now and then, too...

The newest gossip girl blogger debuts tonight...

There's a new gossip blogger set to blow up, and the funny thing about this one is that she's not even real.

A show called Gossip Girl on The CW (for all you white people wondering what "The CW" is, it's this station that combined two other now-defunct stations that plays a lot of my favorite black-people shows where I can hear funky old and new music and relate to the beautiful be-weaved women on Girlfriends -- amazingly and smartly produced by Kelsey Grammer -- and the funny and fine folks on The Game -- ready for that season premiere!)

Anyway, the thing that's gonna make me go TiVo the Gossip Girl premiere as soon as I publish this post is not only that the show is about a rich New York Upper East Side kids, but that it promises to show electronic life as we know it nowadays -- ripe with texting, blogging and gossiping.

Which reminds me -- I'm supposed to talk about how I've used my blog to spread gossip.

Hmmmm..... I've tried to avoid that, but if you do a quick Google of "Carmen Bryan" or other gossipable names in the news, you'll see that we all have our vices...

Google Adsense for Mobile Ads are Added -- Now how the heck do I use them?

by Paula Neal Mooney

Google Adsense for Mobile was just announced, so now I gotta figure out how to use them.

I know some savvy readers (especially on my TV site) read the content on their BlackBerries and such, so I want to take advantage of this new source of blogging revenue.

I logged into my Google Adsense account and clicked on the new Mobile ads option, chose the double ad format, then kinda got stuck in the place where you chose what markup language your site is written in for Google Adsense Mobile ads.

I'm trying to figure out if we can use this for free-hosted Blogger blogs, or just our own hosted domains.

Guess I should dig thru their "You may also be interested in..." articles. Tell me, have you added the Google Mobile Adsense Ads to your site yet?

How'd you do it?

It'll be interesting to see how much they pay off...

$736.02 Blogging Income Last Month -- Am I working hard enough?

by Paula Neal Mooney

I feel kinda how this lady looks in this pic right now.

Up at 12:54 a.m, just going over my last month's blogging revenue and wondering if I've left out a number somewhere.

No -- that looks right, I guess -- $736.02 earned from August 17 - September 17, 2007, as broken down in the table below.

Not meaning to sound ungrateful. I know some bloggers would LOVE to have that much revenue. But salivating over the $17,000-plus John Chow made last month, I couldn't help but to ask myself:

Am I working hard enough? Does God just not like me? What am I doing wrong?

Perish those thoughts, as my mom would say.

Betting on LinkWorth to make more money next month...

A couple of other reputable bloggers (like Genius Types and 5xmom) have talked about the money they've made with LinkWorth -- so I signed up.

Hopefully they'll come thru...

I put in so many hours blogging and with website and content creation -- at least 40 hours or more per week -- but I must keep in mind that I'm still at the beginning stages of this thing.

I know that online income can look more like this graph to the right, with dips and turns, taking time before it climbs to the skies.

How did I make money on the internet?

Thank God for my dad's ghost-blogging check, Google, Associated Content and PayPerPost (the latter two I've stepped up the writing for lately) or else the numbers would be truly low.

And thank goodness for the words of Lilian over at 5xmom.com -- who posted $4,275.50 blogging income last month -- and left me with the best inspirational advice I needed when feeling jealous over the Chow-man:

Lilian said: "Don’t envy, you can do it too if you fill your blog with great content. It is impossible to make much money with only one blog, diversify and persevere."

I know all this work will pay off bigger soon!

Google Bomb List --- John Chow, me ... and what other bloggers will be next?

Google bomb bombing list John Chow
by Paula Neal Mooney

  1. First John Chow was banned from Digg.com, then I was banned from Digg.com...

  2. Then John Chow was Google bombed, now I've been Google bombed...(technically not the correct term, since that refers to linking to Google with text not associated with what you're writing about, but you get my drift)

  3. Next John Chow made $17,828.61 last month alone in blogging income, then I made...well, from my praying lips to God's listening and responding ear...

What is a Google bombing?
Opal the Vegan Momma warned me this could happen. She knew that Matt Cutts from Google said that if too many links with the same anchor text come from the same blog, Google will smack the whammy down on them.

So, like John Chow no longer ranks on the first page of Google's search-engine results pages (SERPS, for you non-techies scratching your head at this post) for "make money online" nor even his own name -- I, too, no longer rank for "Paula Mooney" or "Paula Neal Mooney" or "Blogger Salary" -- plus probably a few other terms.

It had to happen.

But I liked putting that "by Paula Neal Mooney" linked to my blog's homepage so folks who don't know to click the header link above could easily find me.

Touche.

Gratefully -- oh miracle of the Lord above -- my traffic is still somehow hanging around 2 grand pageviews per day even with the Google bombing -- because I still rank well somehow on Google for some specific terms.

But I can tell my Google searches referral links have dropped -- more Yahoo, MSN and other referral links fill those "referral URL" fields now. Who knew how many folks used MSN and Yahoo search engines, where the traffic is still flowing in?

But I'm so used to Google, that I stumbled around Yahoo just to find John Chow's posts about this topic.

After the Google bombing, focusing on the niche web sites...

Thankfully, my niche sites are still getting the good Google juice. So now I know not to bomb them with too much anchor text.

And the Google bombing has taught me to focus on those sites anyway, like my new micro-braid hair styles and pictures web site.

These niche sites are turning out to be my bread and butter in terms of better click-thru rates on my Google Adsense income.

C'est la vie!

Such is life in good old Google land...

If anything, I'm hoping these lessons learned will help my readers thru my experiences.

Go ahead -- other people can now get to the top of Google on search terms that John Chow and I no longer rank well with.

But stop just short of Google bombing! ;-)

Marry My? Your? Daughter .com Scam Hoax -- Who is behind the web site?

by Paula Neal Mooney

MarryOurDaughter.com

Here we go with another weird website that bills itself as "an introduction service assisting those following the Biblical tradition of arranging marriages for their daughters..."

First of all, it's not MarryMyDaughter.com -- that appears to just be a parked page.

But the web site in question wherein supposedly real parents ask people to "marry my / our daughter" looks like a crazy hoax scam designed to draw fake outrage.

The sign up page on MarryOurDaughter.com doesn't work, thankfully, so it screams scam.

Snopes is leaning towards calling the Marry Our Daughter site a big hoax.

Techies are busy digging up the WhoIs info to find out who registered the MarryOurDaughter.com domain name, and writing about who saw Google Adsense ads on the site at one time or another -- and wondering if the marry-off-your-daughter site is a sting operation.

I doubt that last idea.

The cops usually have (or are in need of) a lot more sophisticated technical ways to bring down pedophiles on the net.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 -- Where were you?

by Paula Neal Mooney

Fairfield, California.

I turn on the TV.

Is that the Sears Tower with smoke billowing out of it?

No, those are the twin towers.

My Rottie pukes on the carpet, delaying my husband from driving down to his job in San Rafael, five miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Katie Couric talked to NBC's Pentagon correspondent, Jim Miklaszewski, as he heard a rumbling.

"I don't want to alarm anybody right now, but apparently it felt just a few moments ago like there was an explosion here at the Pentagon," he said.

"We're going to war. A plane hit the Pentagon. Don't go to work," I urged my husband. "They might hit the Golden Gate Bridge."

He stood in our great room, cleaning the light beige carpet, trying to take in what was happening.

We learned of United 93 going down in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

"Don't go to work," I pleaded. "There might be a fifth plane."

He stayed home.

I watched the reports all day, stupefied, woke up in the middle of the night and watched the news and nursed my baby and held him close.

Where were you on Tuesday, September 11, 2001?

Maurizio's Mosaics -- Give Good Google Juice to Your MyBlogLog Community...

by Paula Neal Mooney

Back many moons ago when Maurizio, an avid reader who writes Nafurai from his "Italian section of Switzerland" -- a location I've learned about thru our e-chats -- told me he was doing something with my photo, it was a little flattering and strange.

"As long as you don't have candles around it in some room," I answered, "I'm okay with that."

Later, a scene with Halle Berry and her computer buddy Giovanni Ribisi in the movie Perfect Stranger -- wherein he creates a shrine of Halle -- oh yeah, spoiler alert! -- brought back my conversation with Maurizio.

But, thankfully, Maurizio was only working diligently at creating a bucolic way of giving back link love to the current members of my MyBlogLog community.

(Pretty soon I'll actually follow some of Andy Beard's "do follow" advice and see if I'm even following those links on my tv guide online site, where Maurizio recommended I place the mosaic, as opposed to my Blogger site to be safe.)

If you click on my pic above, it'll take you to the actual page with the actual mosaic, which are a bunch of live links to those individuals' blogs.

Beautiful.

Link.

Love.

Juanita Bynum TBN Video After the Attack: Watch Updates Online as the Prophetess Speaks Out and Becomes a Hot Search Item

Juanita Bynum TBN Video Update Latest News After the Attack Watch Online Juanita Bynum TBN,Juanita Bynum TBN video,Juanita Bynum updates, after attack, watch Juanita Bynum TBN,tbn, watch, wanita, junita, juanity, online, video, preview, clips, updates Juanita Bynum, bynum TBN,new, newsby Paula Neal Mooney

Juanita Bynum on TBN video.

There's a reason why searches for updates and the latest news on Juanita Bynum after her attack are going thru the roof.

Since the day I first heard about Juanita Bynum being attacked by her husband, Bishop Thomas Weeks, many Christians have been talking and dissecting the case and asking ourselves: Why?

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that Juanita Bynum went on TBN last night to speak out after her attack. This video, as you can see, is a news report about Juanita Bynum speaking on TBN, but not the actual Juanita Bynum TBN video itself.

I've searched TBN - Trinity Broadcasting Network's site for Juanita Bynum speaking and video footage, but don't see it loaded yet.

But at least we learn that Juanita Bynum has answered "no comment" on whether she will help prosecute Bishop Thomas Weeks to the fullest extent of the law. It will be interesting to see if she divorces him or stays with him, but either way I'm glad -- as she says --she got off the couch and spoke out.

In the meantime, Google has some videos tagged "Juanita Bynum," here they are sorted by date, but they aren't the TBN specific one yet.

Juanita Bynum TBN,Juanita Bynum TBN video,Juanita Bynum updates, after attack, watch Juanita Bynum TBN,tbn, watch, wanita, junita, juanity, online, video, preview, clips, updates Juanita Bynum, bynum TBN,new, newsEither way, watching the old video clips of Juanita Bynum just did my heart good and made me glad and clap my hands and remember why many of us fell in love with her preaching in the first place.

Juanita Bynum obviously has the hand of God upon her, and just like the disciples of Jesus who endured much pain -- being torn asunder (sawed in half), beaten, shipwrecked, etc. -- sometimes we realize that there is more glory and effectiveness in our low points than our high points in life.

There's much more to this incident than meets the eye -- I know there are spiritual forces of darkness and light in a continual battle all the time.

And God is using this one to reach people who had never heard of Juanita Bynum and Thomas Weeks. Can you imagine how many techies just heard her speaking in tongues?

Now that Juanita Bynum has said in her video updates that she'll use the attack as her "new mantle" to speak out against domestic violence, I'm starting to see a little light as to why Jehovah Nissi shifted his mighty hand of protection a little bit (just like He did for Job) that night over the prophetess and ultimately turned vices (like we all have) around for the good of his Kingdom.

Let it serve all victims of domestic violence well...

Hitman Death Threat Email Scam - No Nigerian phishing hoax, this Russian 'born killer' sends murder spam that says pay $20,000 in 5 days or be killed

hitman scam, born killer, pay 20000,scam email, hitman scam email, scam email hoax,i have been hired to kill you, report threatening email, death threat email, murder email, scam, hoax, live,God wins every timeby Paula Neal Mooney

I love my local newspaper, the Akron Beacon Journal, wherein I learned the latest email phishing scam is one called the "Hitman Scam" from a self-titled "born killer."

    More like born spammer.

Believed to have originated in Russia, this "born killer" hitman email spammer-phisher writes, "It is important we come to a conclusion now or never because, I have been hired to kill you."

The hitman email scammer goes on to say that if you pay him $20,000 in five days, you'll live.

The hitman desperado has added a new twist to the threatening emails, saying someone has already been arrested for murder -- and has even found the names of some recipients' children -- probably gained once people respond or via their online presence.

So, if you get one of these hitman scam emails from a born killer, file a complaint with the FBI.

It never ceases to amaze me the evil ways some technically-inclined folks try to make money. If you've got the techie skills to spam people galore, why not use those gifts for good instead of evil?

Dear "Hitman Born Killer Friend" - Peruse my archives, find legit ways of making money online that will allow you to sleep at night, not force you to look over your shoulder every second, or give you flash-forwards of being locked up in prison with real born killers.

I was only 8 years old...

    by Paula Neal Mooney

I was only 8 years old.

    The day was July 16th.

The year was 1977, three decades ago, when I sat in the very same space I sit now, looking up with hope and amazement at the beautiful caramel-skinned woman on my parents' TV set.

    Trinidad and Tobago.

That's what the sash across Janelle Commissiong's body said, and from that day forward, Trinidad came to stand for not only some exotic isle of untold delights, but a land that showed me all things were possible for a young black girl like me.

This newfound awareness was only further solidified when Janelle -- born in Port-of-Spain -- won and became the first black woman to wear that Miss Universe crown.

That night something changed within me. I've run with it ever since...
