Bible Girl Julie Lyons on Bestiality, Homosexuality and Sinning Pastors

by Paula Neal Mooney Never on a Sunday, a Sunday, a Sunday... Perhaps never -- especially on the blessed Sabbath -- would folks expect to find the kind of nitty-gritty stuff that Bible Girl ( nee : Julie Lyons, before she was married to her new nom de plume ) exposes in her excellent Bible Girl: The Unfair Park Religion Column . Julie "Bible Girl" Lyons is a Dallas Observer editor and blogger, growing increasingly popular beyond the free weekly alternative that's owned by the Village Voice . I found Bible Girl thru the in-depth and also excellent Get Religion . And I will never lose Bible Girl again. Because Julie Lyons is the real deal. She's a Christian that exposes her own wanton sin, and a quick peek thru her posts shows that Julie Lyons isn't afraid to tackle the stuff the Pharisee-set stays away from: sinning pastors, greedy ones, and frank discussions about lust. Neither is Bible Girl afraid to say she's fed up with movies that display a 12-year-o...

Secular Seduction

by Paula Neal Mooney I see you winding and grinding up on the floor I know you see me looking at you when you already know I want to love you, love you, you already know I want to love you, love you, you already know Akon's lovely and whining and beautiful and nasally voice just filled my minivan as soon as I turned on the ignition. Too early in the morning for this sinful stuff , I thought, flipping back to my trusty The Spirit channel on XM 33. R...

A Judgemental Jerk for Jesus...

...that's what I heard a stripper-turned-saved blonde call herself recently. And a judgemental jerk for Jesus is what I became about five years after turning my life over to Christ in 1999. I looked down my holier-than-thou nose at everyone who didn't go to church back then, like her. Thank God for bringing me back in balance and showing me my own faults and how to let people come to His Son thru love. Which poses my current dilemma. A woman who I tried to "win by love" said she didn't want to hear about God during every conversation. I didn't understand why the name God would offend a supposed Christian...I spoke about a lot of different topics. Anyhoo, I sent her a bunch of Joyce Meyer tapes a while ago. She sent them back. I left her alone and prayed on it. Lately, she's been talking to me about listening to Donnie McClurkin... Again , well, for the first time actually. She even talked about wanting to get Inspired By The Bible Experience: New Testame...
