How Do I Sell My Blog? Getting Cold Hard Cash from Blogging...

by Paula Neal Mooney Now that my blessed friend Bonnie Calhoun over at Bonnie Writes showed me that my blog value is in fact increasing -- and not stuck on the $24k I thought it was worth -- by encouraging me to click on the "How Much is Your Blog Worth?" doohickey over there to the left in my sidebar, I've been wondering: How do you sell a blog? (By the way, I had to type in www.paulamooney.blogspot.com to get the highest value, so try different variations of your correct URL with and without the "http:" in front to get your highest blog value.) Googling stuff like "sell my blog," "blogs for sale," "sell your blog," and "blog for sale" will get you enough good tips. But I think these BloggerTalk guidelines in this thread is a good start: 1. This forum is for the listing of blogs which are for sale. Not domain names and not normal web sites (with the exception of domains which have the word "blog" in them an...

Make Money by Selling Text Link Ads on Your Blog

by Paula Neal Mooney I can hardly wait to get some text link ads up on this blog. I learned about them thru both Darren Rowse's and Michael Arrington's blogs, so I've been chomping at the bit to get some of that ad revenue as well. Looks like one way bloggers can make money is thru their affiliate program by referring sales to Text Link Ads or by referring publishers to Text Link Ads . They say they "pay out a flat $25.00 for any referred visitor that results in a sale or gets accepted into our publisher program." Now there's the rub! I've submitted this blog and didn't hear anything back in the 24 hours listed, so of course I shot off an email and even considered calling the 1-800 listed but refrained. Before long I got an email and more feedback that said: "This domain has been previously submitted to our publisher program and has not been approved yet. Please note that we re-evaluate all submissions monthly and you will receive an email as so...

Make a Real Living off Your Blog in 2007

Make a Real Living off Your Blog in 2007 by Paula Neal Mooney Blogging is "hot ta death," as the kids would say. So this New Year's Day 2007 has me ruminating over ways to increase my blogging-from-home (or wherever) business goals to reach my ultimate goal: making a real living and drawing a six-figure-plus salary from blogging in 2007. Funny how some people laugh at that goal or write "good luck!" as if making a living off your blog is some kind of impossible dream. But I know that God is no respecter of persons, and if Darren Rowse and Michael Arrington can do it, so can I thru Christ. So here goes with my blogging goals and visions for 2007, which all will intrinsically help to increase my revenue by driving blog traffic and the like. Hope they help you quit the job you hate -- that you're so stressed over you get sick in the parking lot upon arrival -- and make all your money doing the blogging thing you love: Subscribe to more blogs, leave more com...

LoudLaunch.com Launches...and I'm Sure the Blogging-Purists Will be Up in Arms...

LoudLaunch.com Launches...and I'm Sure the Blogging Purists Will be Up in Arms ...by Paula Neal Mooney So, the much awaited pay-to-blog site LoudLaunch.com has launched, and I'm sure all the so-called "blogging purists" will be up in arms again over sites like LoudLaunch.com who actually dare to pay bloggers (like me) for their writing efforts in helping out advertisers with their PR campaigns or latest news -- which companies can get started creating with as little as 50 bucks to LoudLaunch . But a higher budget means more buzz. It's funny, but I find many of LoudLaunch.com critics to be hypocrites in that they are either news reporters feeding their families off of salaries that are paid by the same advertisers who appear next to their bylines that they try hard not to offend, lest the removal those ad dollars leave them jobless... Or, they are bloggers whose blog posts dissing LoudLaunch.com appear right next to text-link ads affiliated with other pay-to-bl...

Blog Faster, Get Paid More Money

Ten Ways to Blog Faster by Paula Neal Mooney Content creation is everything. Create more pages with new and varied content, and the bucks are sure to follow. But content creation costs both time and money. So how do you keep cranking out the quality stuff without sacrificing your marriage and parenting or whatever else? Here are ten ways to blog faster, and therefore inevitably earn more money and authority as a blogger in the long run: (1) Stop Hunting and Pecking - If I could find my old Kenwood Academy High School teacher, John Tilgner, I would plant a big fat kiss on that forehead. He got a lot of guff from the students in my class (as you can imagine a man like him would teaching in a school that was about 80% black) because he taught us to type with fingers on the home room and without looking, except for the numbers. "You'll know when you make a mistake," Mr. Tilgner (pictured below, so I figured I'd better include my bad yearbook pic below, too) would tell ...

Today I joined Amazon's affiliate program...

I figure this critical time before Christmas is the perfect time to start making money by referring products to Christmas shoppers. So yesterday we had the best Thanksgiving dinner with our friend Lu and Lissy. They cook so well and it was just a really chill time. Lissy praised this book, My Sister's Keeper , and as I flipped the book around in my hands, I realized just how long it's been since I've read an entire book. Probably months...a long time for me... Anyhoo, Lissy said when you read it, have two boxes of tissue handy. Sounds awesome, and I trust her recommendations. Monetize Your Blog With Clickbank...

...that's what I'm figuring out how to do now, since my original post about Michael Richards (and hopefully the follow-up ) is getting lots of traffic. So, I found out about ClickBank -- wait a minute...can you get a referral fee from refering folks to ClickBank? -- and whilst perusing ClickBank's marketplace I found this listing about SEO Elite Software that's supposed to help drive a gazillion folks to your blog and get you listed in the top spots on search engines. Since I'm skeptical of ads that shout too loudly, I checked out SEO Elite's Google page rank , which is indeed pretty good at 6. And the "fantasy football contest" guy's testimonial checks out too, he's ranked #1 on Google's search results. So, maybe when I get the 127 bones to spare on this SEO Elite Software , it might be worth a try to pump up my slowly growing Google adsense account. What do you guys think? Anyone out there having success with SEO Elite Software ? Bookma...

I finally gave in to Google Adsense...

I know, I know, I'm behind in the Google Adsense game, but I kept removing the adsense code because I didn't always like the ads matched up with my blog postings. How do other folks get around this ethical issue? And yes, there are a plethora of sites that I guess let you match up specific ads with specific content, but which one is the best? And I guess you can't put Google adsense code (images only?) in each blog post like I just tried because Blogger Beta's not putting up with the script tag. Let me know your Google Adsense secrets, techies! Thanks for reading! Feel free to bookmark or blogroll me at http://www.paulamooney.blogspot.com/ and drop back in some day to see what I'm up to next. I'm lovin' it too much...

So I've got about 97 cents in my PayPal account, right? And I'm trolling the net to find sites that pay bloggers. Thanks to this supermom of 7 whose blog post hipped me to a bunch of "get paid to blog" sites, I learned about this Mickey D's deal from CREAMaid, who will pay me (hopefully) a handsome 10 bucks pretty quickly (I pray) to said nearly empty PayPal account. It's about ol' McDonalds, and boy do I have a story about them to post. You see, every day that I pick up my son from school he's usually famished, picky eater that he is, from only snacking on the lunch I lovingly pack him each day. "Can I have a Happy Meal?" he'll sometimes ask before even saying hello. "Okay," I'll say on the days when my checking account is flush, as it was today. Thankfully, this Mickey D's sits right next to his school. But I started avoiding it because there's this supercute guy that works the drive-thru there that I -- as a marr...
