Last night I had a really weird dream.
I entered a delivery room where a woman was giving birth.
The first baby was nice and healthy and...human.
When the female doc reached down to extract the next baby, a twin, she pulled back in horror and motioned for someone else.
From the woman, she pulled out a black and pink hairy pig.
"Boom!"
Whispered an audible voice that awakened me the night before. But no man was there.
I'm not crazy. Believe me. Read my other posts and you'll see that I'm completely sane.
"The false gods will fail you..."
That's what a woman on the news said one day years prior.
The news reporters were covering this woman and the crowds drawn to her because odd signs and wonders followed wherever she spoke.
There was the reported smell of roses. And flocks of butterflies swarmed about.
"The false gods will fall you," she said, and I dropped the book on Feng Shui I'd been studying out of my hands.
I've long since thrown all my Feng Shui books away...
Sunday, Bloody, Sunday?
This Sunday, February 18, 2007, the Chinese lunar New Year begins. It's the Year of the Pig.
I only began delving into all things Chinese when I moved near San Francisco and met two Chinese friends who threw me my first baby shower and taught me all about dim sum and eating "family style."
I miss eating family style.
And I learned a bit about Chinese New Years.
Turns out this Year of the Pig is so riddled with hopes of good fortune towards babies born in this specific year, it's causing a baby boom in Asia.
Not just a golden year that comes around every 60 years -- the number "6" representing change in the Bible, by the way -- some Chinese believe this is also a special "red" wealth year -- the purported best in 600 years to have a child.
Hence, the baby boom.
What kind of boom?
I'm less concerned about the baby boom than I am the other kind of kaboom that other Chinese soothsayers are predicting: one that could rival 9/11.
"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come..."
Like I said, I threw my Feng Shui books away long ago, in favor of the bibles that I slept with under my pillow last night.
Normally, the Chinese New Year flies by me now -- safe ensconced in Ohio -- with nary an afterthought. But that pig birthed in my dream didn't signal the warm and fuzzies.
And let's not forget the Rev. Pat Robertson's predictions...
Then there's Joel 2:28, which speaks about dreams and prophecies...
And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
My soul has been anchored...
I've definitely palpably had God pour His Spirit out upon me. So I'm comforted to know that my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life, come what may -- either baby boom or the big boom.
But maybe I'm just like a modern-day John the Baptist (hold the beheading) -- a voice crying out in the blogosphere. "Prepare ye the way of the Lord."

I must admit that I have not been dreaming much lately. Thanks for reminding me of my need to return to my roots!
The end times are one reason why it is so very important to hold onto the faith. I was just listening to a pastor yesterday preach on how it was going to become more and more difficult to keep true to one's faith.
Something important to remember is that every single year may be the year that ends your life--your own personal end times. For my Dad (who I already miss very much), it was this year. For the rest of us, only God knows.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Lisa - Now that I think of it, I've had other prophetic dreams before.
But none as dramatic as yours! You're kinda like that lady that's gonna be on Oprah today -- the one who the real life Medium is based on.
Yes, Lara, I'm so sorry about your dad dying. It's been nearly eight years since my mom died and I still have an urge to call her some days.
I pray God will comfort you during these tough first few months and always...
P.s. I still owe you a reply to yor last comment. I've been having hosting issues. I'll shoot you an email or notify you in another comment once I'm straight.
