What Race is Barack Obama? Barack Obama Age? Barack Obama Religion? Barack Obama Pro-Choice? Barack Obama Pro-Life?

These are some of the hot questions folks are typing into search engines according to Yahoo's Buzz log titled President Barack Obama? ever since Barack Obama 's Sunday morning "Meet the Press" appearance where Barack hawked his new book, The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream , not the Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance that Obama previously discussed on Oprah. Obama said he was open to thinking about a run for the White House in 2008. And that started a barage of questions. Amazingly, some folks had never even heard of the junior senator from Illinois, nor his career-changing keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic Convention that set the political world ablaze for Barack. People want to know about Obama's wife and the like. I already know he was born August 4, 1961 (making him 46 as of this update), is biracial (with a Kenyan dad and white mom from Kansas who can trace her ancestry all the way back to Jefferson Davis...

Tay Zonday's Chocolate Rain Lyrics, Videos -- What's his nationality and race? Why is Chocolate Rain so sad and catchy and sweeping the net?

by Paula Neal Mooney This guy Tay Zonday and his "Chocolate Rain" lyrics are tripping me and a lot of other people out. "I am a singer-songwriter-vocalist. I do everything. No style is off-limits. No two videos are alike. From Bach to Tupac, Opera to Screamo, Expect the Unexpected!" That's what Tay Zonday YouTube site says. (I hope that means he's getting revenue sharing.) "Yes, I have a deep voice. No, I don't fake it," Tay Zonday continues. I wish he would give more info about his nationality -- something I always try to decipher. Is he black? Is he Indian? I want to know. Is that what "Chocolate Rain" means? With the property value line and all... "Yes, I look young. I am 25 years old. I have never studied piano or voice formally. Several of my videos have free MP3s and/or sheet music that you can download in the video details!" Right now, Tay Zonday's personal website (or blog?) redirects back to YouTube, but I...

The Secret on The View Video: Anybody Got It?

By Paula Neal Mooney Did anyone catch what the ladies of The View said about The Secret ? Us east-coast-time viewers were pre-empted by President Bush’s speech today. My TiVo was poised to play their views of The Secret when W cut in. Googling "The Secret on The View" has gotten me little, as has going to The View’s website. No secret there. Anyhoo, this all comes in God’s perfect timing as it were, since The Secret has been on my mind since I first saw it on Oprah. You may remember when I asked my readers, “ Is The Secret Anti-Christian? ” and got a boatload of good responses from The Secret supporters and detractors. I still haven’t seen the DVD, nor watched The Secret fully online. Therefore when this reviewer for this sponsored post ordered a $75 review on my blog about The Official Secret Seminar , my first knee-jerk instinct was to turn it down. Instead, I accepted it, wearily wondering to myself: Am I selling my soul for $48.75? But I watched and prayed, watched...

Is The Secret Anti-Christian?

by Paula Neal Mooney Last week Oprah's show on The Secret DVD and book kept me up till midnight. Yesterday Oprah did a follow-up show to address the reaction to her wildly popular show about The Secret DVD and book. That "The Secret: The Reaction" show kept me up till 1:30 a.m. It was interesting. God bless the skeptical-looking Christian woman named Maureen who stood up and asked, "...is God anywhere in [The Secret]?" Great question , I thought, especially once I discovered that Neale Donald Walsch , author of the misleading Conversations with God trilogy was one of The Secret teachers. Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith -- the attractive and peaceful-looking black guy pictured above -- answered her question with a few Jesus quotes, but I noticed he was quick to call Christ a prophet. And Maureen said that on The Secret DVD , Neal Donald Walsch called Jesus only a "Teacher" and not Savior. I'm leery of people trying to subtly mislead folks by claim...

The Secret DVD: God on Steroids

by Paula Neal Mooney Ask. Believe. Receive. Those are the three basic tenets of The Secret , a new DVD and hardcover book by Rhonda Byrne that's sweeping the world. I caught Rhonda Byrne and clips of The Secret movie on Oprah yesterday, and couldn't stop watching the panel of New Agey-sounding experts talk about The Secret using hokey terms like "universe" and "energy" and "presence" instead of what this Christian girl calls "Jehovah Jireh" and the "Holy Spirit" and "God Almighty." Only one of the panelists, Lisa Nichols (the black woman pictured here), broke down and said she got on her knees and cried out to God to help her change. But I believe some of the other panelists and The Secret teachers are Christians -- not sure about Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith and James Arthur Ray -- but Jack Canfield created those Chicken Soup books. However, the "universal truths" they discussed from The Secret movie ...

Barack and Michelle Obama must address these charges...

by Paula Neal Mooney So Obama has thrown his hat into the presidential ring. I might've never thought I'd be alive to see the day that a black man would attempt a run for president and entertain a serious chance of winning. And now that the blessed day has finally come to pass, why am I so put upon? It's because I've been researching Barack Obama and his wife , Michelle , for a little while now and I don't like some of the ugly stuff I've read thus far . You may have caught my previous post praising Obama for his intelligence, wit and well-read demeanor. But more and more of the ugly politics are being uncovered, especially today. Barack Obama addressed and explained a bit of his pro-abortion stance in a prior Time article, but the charges being levied against Barack and Michelle Obama nowadays are worse than what Barack Obama has been quoted as saying to the press. I'm like Pontius Pilate, always asking: What is truth? Does anyone have a copy of the...
